Itinerary: 3 Days Merzouga Desert Luxury Tour from Marrakech

DAY 1: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE

Set off early in the morning at 8.30 from your riad to begin your 4 Days Marrakech to Fes via Sahara Desert Luxury Tour. You will bear left toward Kasbah Telouet after passing the Tichka Pass at the highest point of the High Atlas Mountains. This Kasbah, which was made up of three principal structures, belonged to the Glaoui family, the Lords of the Atlas. All of the building’s additions, which were constructed at various points throughout time, are now in ruins. There are two sections that are too risky to access because of how much the wind and rain have damaged them. At the extreme end of the best-preserved structure, however, there’s a startling revelation. Unfortunately, due to the devastation caused by the September 2023 earthquake in Morocco, the whole Kasbah is now closed. To discover more about its fascinating history, it is definitely good to take a local tour and have a look at the outside. More surprises may be found in the form of the soil and rock, in the many little Berber settlements and gardens, as well as in the smaller Kasbahs found in the breathtaking and breathtaking Ounila Valley. Aït ben Haddou is the place to have lunch before seeing the famous Kasbah. You will arrive in Ouarzazate, the biggest town after the mountains, after another forty-five minutes. You spend the night in or close to the town at a superior riad.

DAY 2: OUARZAZATE – SKOURA OASIS – ROSES VALLEY – DADES VALLEY.

Following breakfast, you will continue east on the High Atlas to your left, the first stop will be in Skoura Oasis. Unfortunately, living in the oasis has become too difficult, and many of the Kasbahs in Skoura have been abandoned, with the residents having fled to the big cities. Nonetheless, the newly renovated Kasbah Amredil showcases the traditional multi-generational Berber families’ homes in the southern region. The scound stop will be in Kela’a M’gouna or called the Valley of Roses, which is located to the east of this place and is well-known for its May Rose Festival. For those who like rose-flavored products, the cosmetic items produced locally using the valley’s plentiful roses are exquisite. They are of the best caliber and well-known across Morocco. You’ll meet nomads if you travel by the 4×4 in their caves and enjoy a drink of tea with them before heading to Dades Gorge for lunch via an off-road path. After lunch, you have some free time in the Dades Valley to unwind or take a tour around the gardens and fields. You check into a Kasbah for the overnight.

DAY 3: DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA – CAMEL TREKKING – NIGHT IN THE CAMP

You can descend into the subterranean water systems between Erfoud and Tinjdad. Although they are no longer in use, they were the most creative method to stop valuable water from evaporating. Climbing down is amazing because you can feel the coldness of the earth below and marvel at the ancient ingenuity that went into it. Then you will reach the tiny desert town of Erfoud which is well-known throughout the nation for both its date festival and the billions of fossils that may be discovered nearby. The current Moroccan king’s Alaouite family seat, Rissani, comes next. Your driver will drop you off at the edge of the desert, where camels will greet you.
